Tuatha de Danaan (Currently being re-worked)
This Tuatha de Danaan measures 5' long x 12" wide x 40" tall. It is made out of a piano harp with all the strings in tack.
The top is made out of 316 separate pieces of hardwood (white oak, maple, ash, cherry, walnut, paduke, purpleheart, mahogany, canary and cyprus) held together with epoxy resin that is colored blue, white and green. There is an additional layer of clear epoxy resin over the colored resin in order to give the piece more depth. Sanded to 1200 grit and finished with a hand rubbed oil.
The middle of the table has a curved shelf made out of hard maple.
The bottom has 3 custom legs for stability and a back piece that covers the remnants of the sound board that is keeping the tuning pegs in place.
This piece weighs approximately 180 pounds.
